GROWING HOME: COOLING OUR NEIGHBOURHOODS
More than 60% of Brimbank is covered in impermeable surfaces such as roads, carparks and roofs, making our communtiy highly vulnerable to heatwaves.

We're supporting community to address Urban Heat Island by planting trees in backyards, creating nature strip gardens and learning about nature-based heat reduction!
SUNSHINE REPAIR CAFE
Got something that needs fixing or mending? Sunshine Repair Cafe offers FREE repairs for household items once a month, as well as opportunities to learn repair skills and more in sustainable living workshops.

Like repairing or tinkering? Or want to learn about repairing? We're looking for volunteers to be repairers or help out at events
ALBION COMMUNITY GARDEN
Like growing edibles? Looking to increase your gargening skills? Want to meet others in the local area?

Featuring backyard wicking beds and a fledgling food forest out front, there's lots of opportunities to get involved in social gardening, as well as regular workshops on different gardening topics.
HOMEWORK CLUB VOLUNTEERS
We are always on the look-out for new volunteers who can commit to regular shifts. KCNH Homework Club runs every Tuesday during school terms from 3.30pm - 5pm.

If you enjoy working with young people and being part of a welcoming, vibrant community, we’d love to hear from you!
KCNH LIBRARY OF THINGS
We're growing a library of useful household items of things that are often infrequently used.
Borrowing instead of buying saves you money and tool sharing displaces carbon emissions by reducing the amount of tools required!
VOLUNTEERING
We are always happy to hear from people looking to share some time to help with community programs, events or the day-to-day running of the House and garden.

Whether you are free to help weekly, monthly or just at events, we’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at coordinator@kcnh.org.au or drop by the House and say Hello!
