Posted on: February 28, 2023, by : KCNH
We are excited to announce that the Sunshine Repair Café will be opening soon to bring the community together and reduce waste and we are looking for volunteers!
Who are we looking for? We are looking for anyone interested in helping reduce waste! Can you repair a sewing machine, fix a lamp, repair a vacuum? We need you! Repair skills that we are looking for include but are not limited to:
- electrical work in household appliances
- small-job fabric mending
- jewellery
- gluing/welding/soldering
- books
- shoes
- bikes
- small furniture
- electronics
- horticulture
Want to help out, but don’t have a repair skill? We also need volunteers to help run the café by signing people in, taking pictures and keeping track of what has been fixed.
If you want to be a volunteer at the Sunshine Repair Café or are just interested in learning more about the initiative join us at our meet and greet at the Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House on Sunday March 12, 2023 at 11am. There will be snacks and drinks provided. If you cannot attend the meet and greet but would still like to volunteer or know more about Sunshine Repair Café please send an email to sunshinerepaircafe@kcnh.org.au.
